Trial date set for Phillips Exeter Academy dismissal case

EXETER, N.H. >> A federal lawsuit filed by the parents of a former Phillips Exeter Academy student who claim their son was unjustly forced to leave the prestigious prep school will head to trial in November. The Portsmouth Herald reports the trial connected to the lawsuit filed Aug. 30 by "Father and Mother Doe" is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 14. The lawsuit focuses on the dismissal of "John Doe," an unidentified 15-year-old who was placed on leave after school administrators found out that he had sex with a female student.

A far left protester today stormed the stage at Democrat Tim Kaine's rally in Exeter, New Hampshire today and took the microphone from the vice presidential candidate. Kaine walked away and the campaign cut the power from the mic before the protester could get out a sentence.

New luxury apartments earn high marks for energy efficiency

Residents of a recently opened luxury apartment complex in Exeter will soon be recognizing the benefits of lower energy costs, thanks to the collaboration of two local contractors, Chinburg Properties and the Green Cocoon. Elite boarding school finds 5 cases of sexual misconduct

An independent investigation into possible sexual abuse at an elite boarding school has uncovered several cases of sexual misconduct by faculty members, the school announced on Tuesday. The review at Phillips Academy identified five cases in the 1970s and 1980s in which "former faculty members engaged in sexual misconduct involving students," Head of School John Palfrey said in a letter to the school community.
